Blue Chalcedony Sterling Silver Cufflinks

Blue Chalcedony Sterling Silver Cufflinks

Handcrafted heavenly chalcedony and sterling silver cufflinks make an elevated accessory to adorn a pristine crisp dress shirt no matter your gender.  Architectural details like the three dimensional pyramids on the back of the bar, octagonal shaped bar, and maltese cut out on the back of the bezels, are fine design elements that set this pair of cufflinks apart and make them unique and striking.

Moreover, you will find unexpected details in the finishes as well.  Finished in two types of polishes, a satin finished bezel with high polish on the bar and a satin finish on the back pyramids, creating depth and dimension.

Crafted from solid sterling silver, the cufflinks are heirloom quality and can be passed down from generation to generation.

  • About this Gemstone

Blue Chalcedony is a cryptocrystalline quartz meaning its atoms are so tightly bound together that it creates a translucent to opaque quartz called chalcedony. Chalcedony's grow in botryoidal structures like stalactites, (think malachite type concentric circles and bands of colors).

Origins of this cool blue gemstone's name was derived from the ancient Greek maritime city of Chalcedon now located in present day Turkey. It is not written why this gemstone was given the name Chalcedony since it is not mined in the region, but perhaps the people associated the gemstone's color to the beautiful blue Sea of Marmara.

Chalcedony is found mainly in Brazil and has a Mohs scale hardness of 6 making it suitable for jewelry use. This beautiful slightly violetish-blue periwinkle blue color is a very coveted color in the chalcedony family and a natural color as well.

Blue chalcedony is a calming gemstone and a stone of peace and peace-making.
