Shark Teeth

Fossilized shark teeth are organic and can vary in age from 50 million to 100 million years old.  Sharks shed their teeth commonly and throughout time have littered the sea floor with these million-year-old fossils.

Wearing animal parts dates to more than 15,000 years ago and was believed to endow the wearer with the power of the creature.  Fossils have always been prized as they add the power of millions of years to the adornment and are symbols of long life and health in old age.  Sharks’ teeth give added protection to all who travel by or work on the sea.

I love working with fossils and incorporating precious gems and metal to the roughness of the fossil.   Create a slightly mismatched pair of earrings with these delicate shark teeth or create an elongated statement ring using both teeth facing each other.
